Sen. Leticia Van de Putte of San Antonio, head of the Senate Democratic Caucus, responded in graphic terms.”Oh, yeah – ‘She got raped because she was wearing a short skirt,'” she said. “You’re blaming the victim. We’re using the tools that are available during the regular session.”

On June 10, the Star-Telegram published a letter to the editor in opposition to the proposal written by Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst.
In the letter, he criticized Keller school officials for complaining about their share of state funding in the next budget even though it’s an increase from their current funding level.
“It’s true, the school district isn’t getting as much as they expected, but only in government is lowering a projected increase called a budget cut…”
Not just in government. Look at the Texas political media’s coverage of education spending (shameful almost without exception).
